ARCH 305 - Redefining Jefferson's Edges
Project type

Date
August 2023 - December 2023
Location
Jefferson, TX
Professor
Tyrene Calvesbert
During Arch 305 a team and I were able to create a project in Jefferson, Texas involving concepts that were new at the time such as urban planning, and landscape design. Through many weeks of diagramming, site analysis, accommodating clients wants and needs, and much more we were able to create a new "edge" for Jefferson's historical district that is encompassed by the Big Cypress Bayou. As Jefferson is a historical steamboat town, applying an architectural response to the chosen area showcasing the river seemed to be the best choice. The project “Redefining Jefferson's Edges” Was a milestone in my college career as it allowed me to focus in on being able to start at the furthest few of the city, while considering all factors, slowly moving in frame by frame to get the absolute most strongest understanding of the city and client before design begins.
