The collective is my most recent piece of work. A project that was done in the integrated Studio ARCH 405. During this project, as a Capstone, the integration of structures and systems was an extremely heavy part of the deliverables. Starting with an architectural parti, then later moving into structurally framing the form of the building, then finally integrating systems such as ventilation, electrical, and plumbing systems. This project was intended to bring everything that an aspiring architect student at Texas A&M should know being a senior. The Project, based in San Antonio, Texas took everything from a site visit to study and arrive at site conclusions and stipulations all the way to selecting mechanical equipment such as AHUs, chillers, and boilers and their makes and models in order to accommodate the population density during business hours of our interpretation center. This interpretation center has a variety of spaces within and without. A sloped walk receiving you from the San Antonio Riverwalk leading you up to the main entrance. The building holds a café, multiple exhibits, indoor and outdoor reading areas, work rooms, classrooms, conference rooms, and an event space. This project was truly the one that has brought everything I have touched on as an architecture student and everything I should know together in my college career as an undergrad.
